Our Initiatives

Our Initiatives

At the Senior Care Foundation, we are committed to addressing the most pressing needs of seniors in our community. Our initiatives are designed to provide practical, immediate support to improve their quality of life, ensure safety, and promote independence. Here’s how we’re making a difference:

Home Care Assistance

Many seniors face delays while awaiting Medicaid approval, leaving them without essential care during a critical period. Our Home Care Assistance program helps cover the costs of in-home care, ensuring that seniors remain safe and supported while they wait for Medicaid coverage to take effect.

Home Repair Support

Unsafe living conditions, from broken steps to faulty wiring, can put seniors at risk. We provide funding for urgent home repairs, ensuring seniors can stay in their homes without fear of accidents or hazards. Whether it’s fixing a leaky roof or installing a ramp for mobility, our goal is to create safe and secure living environments.

Transportation Assistance

Over half of seniors miss vital medical appointments due to lack of transportation. Our Transportation Assistance program offers rides to and from medical appointments, ensuring that seniors have access to the healthcare they need without the stress or risk of missing important visits.

Utility and Grocery Support

As the cost of living rises, many seniors struggle to cover basic needs like utilities and groceries. Our financial assistance helps alleviate the burden, ensuring that seniors don’t have to choose between keeping their lights on or putting food on the table. By supporting these essentials, we help seniors maintain their independence and well-being.

Prescription Cost Assistance

The rising cost of medications can be overwhelming for seniors on fixed incomes. Our Prescription Assistance program helps cover the cost of essential medications for seniors who can’t afford them, ensuring they continue to receive the treatments they need to stay healthy.
